Children's Liturgy of the Word

Children's Liturgy of the Word

The Word of God

The celebration of the Mass is at the heart of the Catholic faith. The primary purpose of dismissing children is to provide them with a focused environment where they are more likely to become active listeners and responders to God’s word. Children are called forth after the Opening Prayer and return after the Homily. Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLW) shares the Gospel with children (Kindergarten to 2nd Grade) in words they can understand. A group discussion on how the readings relate to the children follows the readings. No reservation is necessary.

We Need Your Help

We have teams of two leaders at the 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. masses from September (after Labor Day) through June. Each team leads a liturgy once a month. Participate with friends and create your own team or join an experienced team. Each lesson plan includes the scripture background, preparation, and liturgy guide for the lesson.

Teens who have been Confirmed are welcome to join our teaching teams. Teens in need of service hours are also welcome to volunteer.
